Presentation of the performance «Divided Together» by Theaterlabor
Divided Together sets out to put the viewer in between two worlds within the same country: the cities of Dnipro and Donetsk in Ukraine - so close and alike and yet separated by a front line; by perceived political and cultural differences that have resulted in a stalemate conflict that is already in its 4th year. Conceived in partnership between Theaterlabor/International Laboratory Ensemble (Germany) and CONFIGURE//DISFIGURE (UK), this multi-phase interdisciplinary project incorporates 360 video installation, unifying 180° views from the two cities into a single virtual space, as well as a collaborative performance by actors from both sides, based on their own personal stories. An interim phase of the project will be presented at the festival where the Dnipro team of performers will respond to pre-recorded performance of their Donetsk counterpart, finding points of connection within their stories and aligning alongside common human themes. Both performances will be subsequentially combined into a whole within 360 virtual space.
